DAY I 

The flight into Paro on our national carrier, Druk-Air, is a befitting

introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country. The remarkable

and steep descent into the Paro valley is an awe-inspiring beginning

to your adventure. You can feel the pace of life slow down as you

reach the country. Bhutan well comes you with the beautiful mountains

of Himalayas covered in snow and the first gift from Bhutan is cool,

clean fresh crystal air as you step out of the plane.After clearing visa,

custom formalities and collection of baggages you will meet our

re presentive from Bhutan Sunshine who will be waiting at the Exit

Point with a Pla-card and drive you to a short distance to a restaurant

for lunch in Paro valley. 

NATIONAL MUSEUM;  Visit at the Ta- Dzong ,the watch tower of Paro Dzong which now houses the national museum today.

PARO DZONG:It was built in 17th century around 1644 by Shabdrung(the founder of drukpa kagyue school in Bhutan)and In 1646 the Dzong was reconsecrated  and established as the administrative and monastic Centre of the western region and it became to known as Rinpung Dzong.it might be femillar to who have seen the movie called Little Buddha in 1993 were filmed in this Dzong, there after on the way back to Thimphu Via Tachhogang Monastery

DAY 3   Douchula - Punakha

We will drive to Dochula which is the highest point for today with an elevation of 3050meters above sea level. Its an impressive modern Bhutanese monuments and both monuments were built as a tribute to the wise leadership of the Wangchuck dynasty in general, and the temple was built under the personal supervision of Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wanghuck, a year after she built the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens. Druk Wangyel Lhakhang was consecrated in June 2008,the wise leadership of His Majesty the Fourth King in particular, the works on the powerful mural paintings, the temple took almost four years to build. Punakha Dzong

Also known as Pung Tang Dewa Chenpoi Phodrang (meaning “the palace of great happiness or bliss”) is the administrative Centre of Punakha Dzongkha in Bhutan and winter capital for Thimphu monks.The Dzong was Constructed as Guru Rinpochea prophesized that “a person named Namgyal will arrive at a hill that looks like an elephant”. Zhabdrung found the peak of the hill, which appeared in the shape of trunk of an elephant as prophesied, and built the Dzong in 1637-38.Another legend tells, how Zowe Palep, the architect, had a vision in a dream after the Zhabdrung ordered him to sleep under a small structure which contained a statue of the Buddha, known as Dzong Chug (small Dzong). In his dream, prompted by the psychic powers of the Zhabdrung, he had a clear vision of a palace of Guru Rinpochea. The vision was imprinted on the architect's mind, enabling him to conceive the plan for the Dzong without putting the vision on paper and to build it and now it locate in the middle of two river pho chu (the male river)and mo chu(the female river). It is also known as the second oldest and second largest Dzong in Bhutan and one of its most majestic structures.The Dzong houses the sacred relics and the sacred remains of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and Terton Pedma Lingpa. In olden days the Dzong was the administrative Centre and the seat of the Government of Bhutan until 1955, when the capital was moved to Thimphu.

DAY 4  Punakha, Wangdue,Trongsa,Bumthang

 

After early breakfast we will start our journey towards the central bhutan en route wangdue 20 minutes drive from punakha and reach the wangdue bridge where you can see the ruins of wangdue dzong which was damage by fire before last year and at the left of the runing river bank you can find the village of Rinchengang ,thereafter a short drive we will be passing through pelela passes crossing 3350m from sea level in which you can see colourfull prayer flags surrounded by jigme singye wangchuck national park with descend landscape of meadows and yaks herders and beautiful villages covered in green fields, enrouteting to Chendebji chorten built in the style of the great Bodhanath stupa of Nepal, was constructed by Tshering Wangchuk son of Yon-Say and the Mahasiddha Zhidag in accordance with the prophecy of the Second Gangteng Tulku Tenzin Lekpai Dhundrup in order to subdue harmful, anti religious demons where we will have a short tea break.After the tea break we will continue our journey to Trongsa for the lunch. 

  

Afternoon

Trongsa Dzong has a rich in history. Which was built 463 years ago, the Dzong's street-like corridors, wide stone stairs, beautiful flagstone courtyards and sacred temples have been witness to many significant events that have shaped Bhutanese history since the 16th century.It is the largest fortress in Bhutan, located in Trongsa the Centre of the country. After lunch you will visite to the Dzong. Thereafter we will start our departure toward Bumthang valley. The Bumthang valley encompasses of four valleys of Choekhor(jakar),Tang, Ura and Chhumey the place where you can see the Yathra (the woolen cloths)weaving center, As you reach Bumthang in 20 minute drive check in and rest after dinner.

DAY 5 BUMTHANG 

After breakfast you will visit the following cultural sites;

  • PADTHSELLING MONASTERY

  • JAMBAY LHAKHANG MONASTERY.

  • KURJI MONASTERY

  • TRAMZHING MONASTERY

  • LHODRA KHARCHU MONASTERY

 

DAY 6 BUMTHANG - GANGTEY

You will departure early from Bumthang toward Wangdue passing through colourfull dense forest,fields crossing Trongsa and to have lunch at chendebji.

Afternoon

You will drive back passing through Pelela and reach Gangtey for night halt.

DAY 7 GANGTEY - THIMPHU 

 

After Early Breakfast we will be visiting Gangtey Monastery. The Gangteng Monastery ,generally known as Gangtey Gonpa ,is an important monastery of Nyingmapa school of Buddhism, the main seat of the Pema Lingpa tradition located in the Wangdue Phodrang District in central Bhutan. The Monastery, also known by the Gangten village that surrounds it, is in the Phobjikha Valley where winter visitors – the black-necked cranes – visit central Bhutan to roost, circling the monastery three times on arrival and repeating this circling when returning to Tibet.The Monastery's history traces to the early 17th century and back to the prophecies made by the well-known Terton (treasure finder) Pema Lingpa in the late  15th century.

 

DAY 8 THIMPHU

DAY 9  PARO

 TAKTSHANG MONASTERY (the tigers nest) 

Todaya very special day that will be the most remembering

day of the trip Hike to Taktshang(Tiger Nest). After

breakfast we will drive you to to a place named Ramthankha

where you will begin your hiking. You will be hiking throug

the beautiful evergreen pine forest and colourful fluttering

prayer flags and you are permitted to hike up to the view

point where you can see the monastry hanging on the cliff

and visit the monastry in which we will have s short session

of mediation. Taktshang or the Tigers nest as the monastery

is widely regarded is one of the most important in Bhutan.

Its history is associated with the visit of Guru Padmasambhava,

the Indian saint who came to Bhutan in the 8th century AD.

The cave was named Taktshang after Guru Rinpoche flew into

the cave from Singye Dzong in eastern Bhutan riding on a tigress.

When landing within the cave he took the wrathful form of Guru

Dorji Drolo (one of the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche) to

subdue the demons. The monastery is one of the main thirteen

Taktshangs as predicted to be built in the world. The cliff on

which Taktshang stands is also supposed to resemble a ritual d

agger – Phurpa (Vajrakila).
